How often has your team started a project intended solely for in-person training, only to be later asked to integrate an asynchronous component?

Various versions of blended learning are becoming more commonplace. Here are 3 tips to make it work.

  • Contextual Learning Pathways: Instead of treating online and in-person components as separate entities, design contextual pathways that guide learners through a cohesive learning journey. Map out how each modality contributes to the overall learning objectives and progression.

  • Integrated Collaborative Spaces: Create virtual and physical spaces that facilitate collaboration and interaction among learners. Use tools like collaborative whiteboards, discussion forums, and project management platforms that seamlessly integrate across modalities.

  • Blended Assessment Strategies: Develop integrated assessment strategies that provide a holistic view of learner progress. Combine formative assessments conducted online with performance-based assessments during in-person sessions to evaluate both knowledge acquisition and practical application.
